Vancouver-based security management company Absolute Software Corporation has unveiled Absolute Insight, a web-based remote monitoring, security, and management solution for managed service providers.
This latest offering gives administrators a comprehensive view of all facets of the IT chain. It provides a deeper view of relationships and dependencies within the organization by analyzing information from hardware, software, active directory, HR, procurement, and other data sources. Absolute Insight is a cloud based solution, which means security administrators can track, secure and manage the IT architecture from a remote location.
“With our Absolute persistence technology, we can take cross-platform IT management to the next level by providing MSPs with reliable access to critical data that can help them better manage and secure each of their customer’s deployments,” said Matt Meanchoff Vice President of Absolute Software’s services branch.
One of the most useful aspects of Absolute Insights for managed service providers is that it gives them a persistent connection to every device that their customers are using. The security solution can automatically reinstall security and management software “even if the firmware is flashed, the device is re-imaged, the hard drive is replaced, or if a tablet or smartphone is wiped clean to factory settings”, according to the press release. This means security administrators can control each device remotely, an invaluable resource for managing devices for organizations with BYOD policies.
Absolute Insight is built on two web-based portals: the Technician Portal, which gives users a detailed view of all IT assets that are under management, and the Customer Portal, which provides customers with insight into the security system in their individual environment. The security solution also offers customers audit and compliance reports, and the ability to detect suspicious activity, lease completion information and expiring warranty alerts, giving IT security teams the tools to minimize and mitigate security breaches.
EVERY One Outsourcing Services recently adopted Absolute Insight. Administrators now “have one-click access to numerous reports with a variety of information including hardware, software, anti-malware, encryption, call history, missing devices, lease, and warranty,” said ,” said Patrik Hammarberg, manager of the Client Center at EVRY One Outsourcing Services. “Having a 360 degree service desk view of our assets is a huge value. Providing our customers with real-time access to their managed devices gives them peace of mind.”
